2008 Photos of the Old Ceremony Ring at Camp Osborn
The old Ceremony Ring was located between the current Ceremony Ring and Mike Ellis Road.
The entrance was hard to find as it was down a trail off the service road and then up a wash which always had trees across it. Also, the entrance to the wash was south of the ring so you had to backtrack. As the wash was an actual rain water wash no signs of use were evident between uses.
The ring was abandoned in the about 1984 when more activites were developed along Mike Ellis road. A new ring was built farther into the Camp Osborn woods. |
The top two photos are of the entrance which was down a wash which always had trees across it. The entrance ran from the south to the north.
The two photos above are of the east side of the ring (looking north). A large dug out arrow fire pit can still be seen in the center of the ring.
The west side of the ring (looking north).
